I’m Carey.  I am a twenty four year old grad student living and working in the best city in the world- New York, New York!

Lucy and Me

I am a grad student working on my MSW, Masters of Social Work.  I am going to a university with a clinical focus, which pretty much translates to learning how to be a mental health therapist.  Most therapists are actually Masters level.

A part of my Masters program is to complete an internship.  Since therapy is learned more effectively through practice, this experiential style of learning is essential.  So three days a week I truck up to the south Bronx and work with at-risk adolescences.

Prior to moving up to NYC I was working for a marketing agency that works primarily in social media.  I was lucky enough to be able to continue working for them on a part time basis from my apartment.

Between work, school and internship I try to fit in a social life and time to be a good puppy-mommy.

I recently moved here from warm and sunny south Florida and I am probably one of the few people that actually loved the winter!

When I do get a free moment, I love to bake and am trying to learn to cook more exciting meals than salads and sandwiches.  I also love to paint and draw.  I’ve recently started getting into photography. And of course explore this amazing place I call home- NYC!
